Hi, I'm Eli
More About Me
I grew up in the frozen tundra of Wisconsin, spending my most formative years playing sports and attending school in the city of West Allis, a suburb of Milwaukee. This is not, however where I became an adult; in the midst of my senior year, my family moved across the country to Medford Oregon, a modest city in near the California border.
I wasn't there long, however. I quickly turned 18, graduated high school, and left Medford behind for the Rocky Mountains of western Montana. In Montana I attended a one year Bible school called the Montana Wilderness School Of The Bible where I grew in faith, assurance, and stature. There I became sure of both my beliefs and my future; I learned during this year that I wished to become an engineer.
Following that year away I returned to Oregon to pursue a degree in engineering and to compete in college track and field. I am now 22 years old, in my junior year of a degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Oregon Institute of Technology where I compete as a decathlete on the track team. Here I continue to seek excellence in everything I do in order that I might honor the commands of God:
"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord ..." (Colossians 3:23a)
and,
"... whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." (I Corinthians 10:31b)
These two verses provide an ample summation of my philosophy of achievement. I strive mightily to achieve excellence in all that I do so that God may be glorified in my achievement.
This is the ultimate end of my pipe making as well. My prayer is that through the craft of my hands and the excellence thereof, I might bring glory to my Heavenly Father in the exercise of the gifts and skills he has given me. Therefore, as you explore my page or any of my social media sites, I pray that any praise or admiration may be directed to the one who is truly worthy, the maker of all good things, God Almighty.
